Don`t get me wrong, LMA has at least 2 great bands (Little Feat, Grateful Dead). But is there any way to attrack more top acts (all genres), like Santana, The Who, ZZ Top, Bee Gees, Emmylou Harris, etc. to this great Internet Archive? As for me, I love to collect many different bands. Unfortunally most bittorrent uploads don`t last long enough for me to get them downloaded (well, I am a full time working person). - I`ve tried to get the permission of some well-known German bands (Scorpions, CAN) with a negative result. So again, how can we attrack these groups to allow uploads on the LMA? Any - serious - replies are welcome. - Thanks.

I'm not sure of the definition of a First Class Band is but I for one am glad I have this site to listen to music. I wouldn't be a Railroad Earth fan..Grace Potter & The Nocturnals...Ryan Adams & The Cardinals...Assembly Of Dust
...John Butler Trio...Robert Randolph's Family Band..Phil Lesh & Friends...Jackie Greene...Drive By Truckers, etc..

You see we all have our lists of band we have discovered from sites like these. Why would we want all that corporate rock on this site? Don't forget the popular selling bands are of one mindset and that isn't the same as Live Archive's mindset.

I need new music to feed my soul and give me passion to see live music. I'm so glad I did open my mind as I get to enjoy shows all summer long from those bands not First Class. I lost friends because I no longer would guitar rock out. I don't want to be stuck thinking mainstream rock has the best musicians. People can like Billy Gibbons, Santana, Pete Townsend, Pat Travers, Michael Schenker as guitar gods but I'm glad to hear Larry Campbell, Mato Nanji, Neal Casal, Richie Kotzen and others who bring something else to the table.

I just recommend to people to listen listen listen to bands on this site. You will find some music that will grab you.

Enjoy your music people.

I think the most important things that bands need to know is that it's noncommercial and that they have complete control over the content that's in the collection. A lot of bands hear "live recordings" and immediately think "bootleg" and just shut down right's just how they've been conditioned to think.

But there are bands here with specially-designated permissions that only allow one or two people to upload their shows, to represent the best of a given band's material. They can choose to share as much or as little as they want - that's the great part.

Of course, the biggest obstacle is getting these bands to acknowledge live taping to begin with...unfortunately none of the ones you mention have open taping policies. They may tolerate it but it's tough to get them to come around and actually say that it's a good thing...
